Plan a Visit

Visiting a New Church Can Be Intimidating

What should I wear? Where do my kids go? We understand the many thoughts that can come from visiting a new church, so we want you to feel right at home when you visit.

Your life and your story have value, because you were created by God, himself. That’s why your story matters to us—and ultimately, why it matters so much to God.

At Move Church, we’re here to walk with you through whatever chapter of life you’re in. We love celebrating with you when things are going well, and want to support and guide you when life gets tough. Because, no matter what you’re going through, we want you to know that you never have to go it alone.

What to Expect

WHAT TYPE OF CHURCH IS MOVE CHURCH?

We are a multi-site church with two locations across in Northern Virginia. Although our campuses meet in different places, we are all a part of the same church community. We say it this way— “one church, multiple locations.”

WHEN AND WHERE ARE THE SERVICES?

We have services that meet on Sunday mornings at both campuses. Our campuses meet in diverse locations from church buildings to high schools. While the meeting places may be different, it’s all the same Move Church experience!

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

There is no dress code for attending services at Move Church. Some attendees dress casually and some dress up. You are free to come exactly as you are, so wear whatever you are most comfortable in.

WHAT IS SERVICE LIKE?

We always start our services with a time of energetic, passionate praise and worship. Once worship is over, we will share a few announcements about what’s happening at our church through video and live communicators. Most weekends, our Lead Pastor, Mark McLeod will preach. As a multi-site church, the message is streamed in via video. We’ll then continue our worship through an offering. Our services close with a brief time to respond to God in both worship and prayer.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I ARRIVE?

From the moment you pull into the parking lot at a Move Church campus, you will be greeted with a smile from our Parking Team. You will enter in to your campus’s main lobby where you’ll be welcomed by one of our greeters. There will be some refreshments for you to enjoy on us, and you can check your kids into our kids’ ministry, Adventure Kids. There will be a 5-minute countdown to let you know when service will start, so you can be sure to get your seat before the service begins!

WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?

Our Adventure Kids ministry provides an amazing weekend experience at every service and every campus. Visit the Adventure Kids check-in kiosk where our team will register your children and give them a name badge with a parent pick-up tag. Please let us know if your child has any allergies or special requirements during the check-in time. If we need to contact you during service, we will send a short text to your phone. At the end of the service, simply show your parent pick-up tag to the teacher of your child’s classroom and your child will be released to you.

HOW CAN I MEET OTHERS AND GET CONNECTED?

There are a couple of great ways you can get more connected at Move Church. The first is by completing the M-Track. These classes are offered every month at each campus. Visit our M-Track page for more details. You can also get connected through Groups. We have a variety of small groups that you can join every semester where you can build relationships with other believers and find freedom through Jesus Christ. Visit our Groups page for more information on how to join a Group.
